 Exercise D

It was three o´ clock in the morning when the phone rang. I was so shocked that I woke up immediatly. However, it was so dark and was so tired that I couldn´t find the phone. When it stopped ringing, I calmed down and I tried to fall asleep again. But, minutes later, it started ringing again! I woke up very quickly and switched on the lights. This time, I found it. At first, I thought it was the police who called me to tell me something important, but when I answered, I discovered to my surprise that it was Mr. Benson, my neighbour! He was trying to call me because my car alarm had been going on for two hours and he couldn´t sleep. And the funniest fact was that , with all the mess of the phone, I hadn't noticed that at all!

  1. it's quite good! perhaps more adjectives to describe the situation/context (for example, what was that night like?) could have helped-
also, pay attention to the last phrase (there past perfect is better than simple past!)
